It’s funny how these problems keep on surfacing
like an oracle reminiscing painful memories.
I could see how this future leads, spoken poems
broken homes, hearts bleed, every time that you’d leave
bruises battered on my arm sleeves, begging you to please stop
justify it as a love lost, caused damage
lost sight of where we started, so tell me now how do we manage?
Love is blind but, at what point do we stop trying
or do we continue lying to ourselves?
Knowing we’re beyond help, prying back in the past frantic
abandoned seeds planted, planting hurt when you speak
scars when you deceived,
believed in your devotion ‘til it all turned physical.
Miserable, as these tears formed into oceans
we needed miracles as emotions washed away.
You pursued all the pain, yet I remained faithful,
even to this day.
Shaking hour glasses, hoping time would change
I just learned to run faster, though it stays the same.
A bastard of my youth, I misconstrued pain
just to get us both through.
You stared love in the face and you never cared,
so tell me, where we go from here…
