Spoken under mono-tonal breaths, shaky words with solid foundations you unearthed concentration from the pits of the abyss that were once left forsaken.
“I love you,” you stammered, looking away as if hiding from the truth.
It was at that moment, tectonic plates shifted beneath us, and for the first time in my life I truly believed in poetry, and you were the metaphor I wrote it for.
“We could move worlds together, you know?”
And you smiled, unmoved, nearly stuck on the same breath you confessed happiness with, and I never felt anything stronger.
